Cushions

Rattan weave
We offer a 3 year rattan weave warranty on our Firepit set rattan's. They are guaranteed for 3000 UV hours under normal conditions.
Please note during periods of warm weather the rattan may appear to 'sag' due to the nature of PE. Without a glass top this will make the rattan unusable. This is normal and it will revert to its normal state upon cooling. To limit this we suggest using a parasol to keep out of direct sunlight.
Firepit systems
With all of our firepit systems they are under UKCA marking. Pleasure ensure that no live firepit is ever left unattended, as it is a live fire. Please ensure you use a small gas bottle- 4/5kg to leave enough room between the firepit system and fuel source. Firepit's should never be left unattended at any time. Please ensure all loose items/ clothing are kept away from the firepit system at all times.
Firepit rattan sets should always be around 10 foot from the house, and away from any low hanging branches/ trees/ shrubbery. Make sure you are using the correct gas source. And ensure there is sufficient room between the gas source and the firepit system. Always disconnect the gas source after use. Through winter months, we suggest keeping the gas source away in a well ventillated area. When entertaining, ensure there are no loose items near the firepit system.
Never burn any house hold waste on your firepit system.
Watch the weather- if it is too windy refrain from using your firepit system. If the wind catches embers it can carry them straight into your eye.
Always check your firepit system for any signs of damage prior to use. If there is any suspected damage, refrain from use.
Setting up your firepit system with your Lava rack and windguard
Glass windguard
Our windguard is made from tempered glass. The windguard should be in place at ALL times when using the firepit system. Our windguards all have non slip rubber feet keeping the guard in place at all times and to minimize the risk of slipping. It also provides an extra level of safety from the fire flickering.
Please remember that this glass can get hot, and to never touch immediately after the fire has been on.
Lava Rock
Lava rocks of glass are often used for rattan firepit systems. The majority of our rattan sets come with Lava Rocks. You are probably wondering what they are.. They are volcanic rocks or basalts and are best suited for propane gas fire pit sets. They are super heat tolerant and evenly distribute the firepit heat and look like a solid sponge with pores.
Where to place LAVA rocks on a firepit system
LAVA rocks can be praticuarly dusty so it is best to clean them rather than tip straight from the box onto the fire pit set. Best practice would be to wash them and let them dry for an hour. Their heat insulation and heat retaining properties make them great for firepits. They give a natural look to a buring fire and do not need to be cleaned very often.
How to set up the LAVA rock on my firepit
You can place LAVA rocks directly on to a firepit system. As detailed above it is best to wash them and let them thoroughly dry out. You will find with our LAVA rock boxes there is often a surplus. Ideally, you want to set them 2-4 inches deep. Ensure the gas burner is covered by the rocks for even distribution of the flame.
Starting my firepit system with the LAVA rocks on
When you have finished arranging the LAVA rocks, you can switch the firepit system on, the firepit system should start with no problems. You can control the fire using the twist and turn knob. If you wish to re arrange rocks whilst the firepit system is on, you can use a fireplace poker to move them, but be gently otherwise they could fall onto the decking/ patio
The benefits of LAVA rocks
Firstly, they have an exceptional health tolerance, after all.. they are made of molten lava. You do not need to change them in two- three years as they are extremely durable, and therefore very budget friendly. For lonegvity then must be kept DRY for extended periods, avoid getting your LAVA rock wet.
LAVA rocks are brilliant at distributing the flames from yoru firepit rattan set. Without rocks, you will just see the flame shoot upwards, this does not look nice and will not reach people gathering aroun the firepit.
LAVA rocks also provide a waterproof barrier for your firepit system. The pores of the LAVA rock take in the water and act as drainage for your firepit system. You must make sure the rocks are dry prior to re lighting again.
Where does LAVA rock come from?
LAVA rocks are natural resource, and are volcanic rocks. They are freely available to buy at many places in the UK including many garden furniture retailers and also amazon/ ebay.
Advantages/ disadvantages of LAVA rocks
LAVA rocks create an efficient barrier between the burner and surface offering protection with the burner in regards to it getting overheated. The depth of the LAVA rock on a firepit system is 2-4 inches, meaning it minimizes the risk of heat on the bottom of the firepit system protecting the decking/ patio.
Disadvantages
Popping- On a rainy day, or after a rain shower you may want to feel the warmth of your stunning rattan firepit set so you ignite the firepit system. You may hear some cracking and popping coming from the firepit. This noise will have come from the rocks and can be a problem when you ignire wet LAVA rocks, when severe the rocks can explode. If you see this happening you must move away from the firepit as quick as possible and turn it off as soon as possible. You must dry the coals, and allow them to air before putting back in the fire pit and switching them on. If you need to use this soo, you should proceed with caution and use low temperatures to eliminate water from the interior.
Can I cook on LAVA rocks?
Yes! You can cook on LAVA rock firepit systems. they distribute the heat and flames more easily making it ideal for equally cooking food for example meat. They heat fast so cooking should also be fairly quick.
You must take care to avoid fat/ oil from food dripping on the LAVA rocks and burner. This can create blockages and also create a nasty smell. We don't recommend cooking on the systems, they should be used for decorative purposes only.
Alternatives to LAVA rock
1. Decorative glass
Most of our models are supplied with LAVA rock however if you wish to replace, you can source decorative glass off amazon. Fireglass is a great way to personalise your firepit system as they come in many shapes and colours. To make the heat resistant glass the manufacturers put the glass through a tempering process. The sharp edges of the glass are often rounded/ filed down making them safe to touch without cuts. The glass reflects the light and produces a stunning shimmering effect. Like LAVA rocks, it also spreads the heat easily.
